Description
The Barton is our original Georgian style Summerhouse. It features a pair of fully lockable, mortice & tenon Doors with antique hinges & handle, a fixed Georgian window either side of the doors & a fully opening window in each side and a 15” roof canopy as standard. We can completely customise this building. If you need a different height, width, depth or layout please contact us with your specification.
FLOOR
If your chosen building is under 8ft in both depth and width: It will be supplied with a (Ex 15mm) 12mm finished tongue and groove matching fixed to 47mm x 47mm pressure treated floor joists.
If your chosen building is over over 8ft in both depth and width: It will be supplied with a Heavy duty V313 Caber board flooring instead fixed to 47mm x 47mm pressure treated floor joists
ROOF
Available in your choice of Pent or apex style. There is a 0.38m (15”) roof canopy over the front of the building as standard on the Barton. We use a Heavy Duty Polyester based roofing felt as standard. On all of our buildings there is a ventilation gap along the back of the roof. All buildings come with an (Ex 19mm) 15mm finished tongue and groove matching on 47mm x 47mm & 47mm x 22mm roof bearers. Larger buildings will have these bearers upgraded where necessary.
WALLS
All buildings have (Ex15mm) 12mm finished tongue & groove Scandinavian Redwood shiplap fixed to 47mm x 47mm & 47mm x 22mm finished framework from sustainable sources.
DOORS
The Barton has a pair of doors 0.6m (24”) wide by 1.76m (70”) tall giving a generous 4ft opening.
6 panes of 3mm toughened glass in each door.
Hung on black Antique style hinges and come with a 5 lever lock & black Antique style handle.
WINDOWS
The Barton has fixed windows alongside the doors in the front & an opening sash in each side panel glazed with 3mm safety glass.
The amount of windows depends upon the size of the building, please contact us for details.
HEIGHTS
The Pent Barton has a generous internal eaves height of 1.82m (6’) rising to an internal ridge height of 2.06m (81”).
The Barton Apex has an internal eaves height of 1.82m (6’). The internal ridge height is dependant on the width.
2.06m (81”) on 7’ & 8’ Gable ends
2.13m (84”) on 9’ Gable ends
2.18m (86”) on 10’ & 11’ Gable ends
2.31m (91”) on 12’ Gable ends
Please add an extra 7” on to these heights for the external dimension.
The buildings complies with the 2.5m maximum height restriction imposed under Permitted Development.
TREATMENT
Our buildings are treated both internally & externally with a spirit based preservative.
We recommend you treat within 3 months of delivery and then annually to prolong the life of the building..
