Description
The Grendon is our Greenhouse & shed combination building. This is the answer to the keen gardeners needs. You have a superb 6′ x 4’6 Greenhouse section on the smaller 8′ building or a 6’ x 6’6” Greenhouse on the larger 10′ building. The Grendon comes with a glass roof and a super storage area for your tools, seed trays & pots etc leaving the greenhouse area clear of all but your beloved plants. There is timber staging on both sides of the Greenhouse section. By combining two buildings you have a visually pleasing garden building that is practical and space saving as well. The Grendon is available in 6ft x 8ft (182×244)and 6ft x 10ft (182X305).
FLOOR
The Shed section of the Grendon comes with (Ex 15mm) 12mm finished tongued & groove matching on 47mm x 47mm pressure treated joists on both sizes. The greenhouse section does not have a floor so the base you are situating the building on will act as the floor as with any greenhouse.
ROOF
The shed section comes with (Ex 15mm) 12mm finished tongue & groove matching on 47mm x 47mm roof purlins. A Heavy Duty Polyester based roofing felt is used as standard on all buildings. On all of our buildings there is a ventilation gap along the back of the roof. The Greenhouse section comes with in 4mm toughened glass.
WALLS
The shed section and lower part of the greenhouse section has (Ex 15mm) 12mm finished tongue & groove Scandinavian Redwood shiplap fixed to 47mm x 22mm & 47mm x 47mm finished framework. The upper part of the greenhouse section is glazed with 4mm toughened glass. All of our buildings are made from wood from sustainable sources.
DOORS
The Grendon features a part glazed door, fitted with a shoot bolt on the outside and a tongue and grooved door complete with a mortice lock on the inside.
WINDOWS
The Grendon has a classic style opening window in the shed section which can be positioned on the left or right hand wall as you face the building.
HEIGHTS
The Grendon has an internal eaves height of 1.82m (6’) rising to an internal ridge height of 2.06m (81”) Please add an extra 7” on to these heights for the external dimension. This building complies with the 2.5m maximum height restriction imposed when erecting a building under Permitted Development.
TREATMENT
Our buildings are treated both internally & externally with a spirit based preservative that helps to protect the timber from fungi, woodworm & blue stain. We do recommend that buildings are retreated within 3 months and then every year for continuous protection.
All of our buildings can be upgraded to a painted finish. As with all of our buildings, this building can be completely customised, so if you need a different height, width, depth, door opening size or specific window and door positions, please contact us with your specification for a quote.
